Although it may primarily be known as a maker of luxury automobiles, Mercedes-Benz is also a major player in the truck industry and sells vehicles designed for some of the heaviest workloads around. The company, which is a part of Daimler AG, has existed in some form since 1883, and played a role in building what is considered to be the first gas-powered vehicle.

Mercedes-Benz as we know it today, however, was founded in 1926 by Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler under the name Benz-Daimler. The company established itself in the U.S. in 1965 under the name Mercedes-Benz USA, although imports began roughly a decade prior.

When it comes to the company’s trucks, Mercedes-Benz has a lot to offer, including medium duty vehicles for local and regional hauls, larger capacity and more powerful trucks for long hauls, and trucks and chassis that can be converted into mixers, haulers, firetrucks, refuse trucks.
