Schmitz Cargobull Trailer Increases Capacity & Flexibility For Bolshaw Industrial Powders

Bolshaw Industrial Powders recently acquired its first Schmitz Cargobull semitrailer, an S.CS Fixed Roof curtainsider. The company produces limestone products for agricultural, industrial, and soil stabilisation use, along with precision blending and packaging options. The trailer is already at work transporting palletised lime products across the UK.

“We were looking to add a new manufacturer to our trailer lineup and knew that the Schmitz Cargobull product would be well made,” says Jonathan Bolshaw, managing director at Bolshaw Industrial Powders. “The new trailer has given us extra capacity and greater flexibility. We can load it the night before ready to head out first thing the next day, which has boosted the efficiency of our operation.”

Bolshaw’s lightweight semitrailer has a payload of 32 tonnes (35.2 U.S. tons), a fully glued floor without screws, disc brakes, a fully galvanised Modulos chassis, and 120-millimetre Alcoa Dura-Bright alloys.

    Durability & Security

The S.CS Fixed Roof trailer has a straight front wall for free side loading and tarpaulin tensioning, a DIN EN 12642 Code XL load-securing side curtain with anti-theft protection and an aluminium roof that allows a side-loading height of up to 3,100 mm. The lashing eyes have a tensile force of up to 4 t (4.4 U.S. t), have flexible load-securing points, and are suitable for all standard hooks. Standard lashing holes can be located in the outer frame or optionally in the pallet stop and enable the load to be secured quickly and easily.

    Curtainsider Tech Features

The semitrailer’s Load Spread Programme relieves pressure on the rear axle if the centre of gravity shifts when the trailer is partially unloaded. The tyre pressure monitoring system alerts the operator when a tyre needs air and tops it up independently when required. The system’s autolocation feature assigns the sensor to the correct tyre position, giving operators an accurate read on where its tyre pressure and temperature data are coming from.

    Praise For The Trailer

“I like the ease of strapping down goods as there’s plenty of latching points, and the fact the fitted curtain runs free,” says Bolshaw driver Martin Shaw, who has used the S.CS Fixed Roof trailer with his DAF XG tractor unit. “I often sideload the trailer, and its practical design makes that straightforward.”
