Renault Trucks recently announced the UK’s first right-hand drive E-Tech T is making its debut at the Road Transport Expo 2024, 4th to 6th June, NAEC Stoneleigh. The fully electric E-Tech T joins a lineup that spotlights Renault Trucks’ strategic commitment to decarbonising transport, including the latest E-Tech vehicles with zero tailpipe emissions from 3.1 to 44 tonnes and HVO-compatible diesel range.
The French manufacturer's all-electric range is the widest in Europe that covers and decarbonises virtually all urban and regional applications. Unveiled in right-hand drive for the first time in the UK, the new E-Tech T 4x2 will take pride of place on Stand B4. Designed to meet customers’ needs for productivity and performance, the 44-tonne E-Tech T runs on two E-Tech motors, with six 90-kWh battery packs to deliver 540 kWh of power. The E-Tech T offers a range of up to 300 km on a full charge and up to 500 km with an intermediate fast charge (250 kW) of an hour. Designed for driver comfort inside and out, the high-spec’d cab features a host of optional extras, including 4-point air suspension with a ride height control system, as well as heated Comfort driver’s seat and an Ultimate leather steering wheel.
Showcasing the reality of electric vehicles for the construction sector, visitors to Stand B4 can also see a day-cabbed E-Tech C 6x2 rigid, with 4,100-mm wheelbase, operating at up to 26 tonnes. Its two E-Tech motors are powered by four 90-kWh battery packs delivering 360 kWh with peak torque of 530 Nm. Power take-off comes from the electric motor powered by the vehicle’s 600-V electric network.
Completing the electric lineup on Stand B4, from Renault Trucks’ van range, is a 3.1-tonne, L2H1 E-Tech Trafic Red Edition, the ideal work tool for SME trades and fleet businesses. Powered by a new 90-kW (120-bhp) electric motor, it has 52-kWh batteries and a range of 297 km WLTP in the combined cycle: one of the best electric energy consumption figures on the market, with 18.7 kW/100 kms, which helps to reduce the vehicle's cost of ownership. Designed for usability, the flexible E-Tech Trafic on stand offers a generous 1,046-kg payload, internal length of 2,937 mm, internal width of 1,662 mm (1,268-mm arches) and internal height of 1,387 mm.
Taking centre stage in Renault Trucks’ ICE line-up is a customised 13-litre T480 High 6x2 with Turbo Compound engine that delivers up to 10% fuel saving with associated CO2 reduction. Striking in ‘Red Bright Orange’ paint, the T High is spec’d to impress with colour-matched door mirror shells, windscreen bay with two handles and two exterior vertical windscreen pillars, topped off with twin air horns. Prioritising aesthetics and driver comfort, the interior of the cab is bristling with optional extras, including an Ultimate leather steering wheel with red stitching, a heated and ventilated luxury driver’s seat, and leather and fabric upholstery for a comfortable work and rest environment. Power comes from the 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine that delivers maximum power of 360 kW from 1,250 to 1,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 2,700 Nm from 900 to 1,250 rpm, which is mated to an Optidriver AT 2812 gearbox with automatic clutch.
Alongside the T High, from Renault Trucks’ heavy haulage range, an 80-tonne Renault Trucks C520 6x4 tractor unit. Renault Trucks’ efficient 13-litre engine delivers a maximum power output of 390 kW between 1,431 and 1,700 rpm, with maximum torque of 2,550 Nm from 990 to 1,400 rpm, paired with the reinforced Optidriver XTREM Xtended ATo 2613 gearbox (17.54 – 0.79) with 13 speeds including one forward crawler gear and five reverse gears with one extra short ratio for excellent traction and drivability. Finished in grey metallic paint with colour-matched exterior parts, the sleeper-cabbed C520 is on full air suspension with a ride height control system and features twin roof-mounted air horns. Inside the cab, the interior matches the T High Customised for comfort and luxury spec with a Luxury driver’s seat, an Ultimate leather steering wheel, and all mod cons.
From the latest evolution of Renault Trucks’ efficient and manoeuvrable distribution range, a D26 Wide 6x2 rigid with an optional third steered rear fixed axle joins the ICE vehicle display. The new design draws inspiration from both the manufacturer’s van range and heavy-duty range, and also includes a host of new safety equipment to enhance the protection of both drivers and road users.
Additionally on Stand B4 is a vehicle from the Used Trucks by Renault Trucks range, while customer vehicles and other specialist vehicles will be on display on stands around the Road Transport Expo event.
Taking pole position in the event’s Ride & Drive, two Renault Trucks vehicles will be available for supervised demonstrator drives: a T480 High 6x2 Turbo Compound with trailer and a fully electric 18-tonne E-Tech D with Solomon refrigerated body.
Alongside Renault Trucks’ vehicle display, its knowledgeable team of experts will be on hand to offer comprehensive details and guidance on vehicles and transport solutions, including the decarbonisation journey. Furthermore, in Hall 2 on Wednesday 5th June at 2.00 p.m., Jack Millington, Energy Transition Manager for Renault Trucks, will be participating in The Big Debate about the future of the industry.
