Scuderia Ferrari has a fleet of Iveco vehicles to transport its Formula 1 cars and other equipment to the world championship racetracks where they compete, and Iveco recently upgraded the fleet with two brand-new S-Way tractor units, each equipped with 570-horsepower (419-kilowatt) Cursor 13 engines.
“We are very proud of our brand being linked to such a world sporting legend,” says Iveco Group Truck Business Unit President, Luca Sra. “For the past 20 years, we have worked with Ferrari, which has entrusted our high-performance and reliable vehicles with the logistics and handling of its most important assets. We share similar values and ambitions, the passion, and competitive spirit needed to perform at the highest level.”
4G & Driver Pal
Iveco’s Driver Pal technology lets drivers use Amazon Alexa voice commands for in-cab controls. And with 4G connectivity, drivers have access to an entire suite of connectivity-enabled customised services like fleet management and optimisations for logistics operators to improve vehicle uptime. Satellite navigation and Iveco’s advanced Infotainment system are also onboard to simplify operation.
More On The S-Way
The technologically advanced S-Way replaced the Stralis series in 2019. S-Way trucks now handle the 18-tonne (19.8-U.S.-ton) and heavier over-the-road weight classes for Iveco. The S-Way offers plenty of power to haul Ferrari’s Formula 1 race cars with a 570-HP Cursor 13 engine providing 2,500 newton-metres (1,844 pounds-foot) of torque. (Iveco offers the S-Way in a variety of other Cursor 9, Cursor 11, and Cursor 13 engines.) In addition to conventional diesel-powered engines, sustainable alternatives are available in the form of S-Way compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquified natural gas (LNG) variants.
