Iveco recently introduced new features to its Iveco On Easy Way mobile app, which it introduced in 2019 alongside its S-Way heavy-duty truck range to allow drivers to manage cabin and vehicle functions and access Iveco On digital services on their mobile devices. For starters, the app can now use push notifications to alert drivers to important vehicle health and software update information, making it easier to avoid breakdowns and maximise vehicle uptime. The new notifications appear on the driver’s mobile device and are readable in the in-cab infotainment system.
“The Iveco On Easy Way app is an excellent example of our customer-centric approach to development,” says Fabrizio Conicella, global head of Iveco digital and advanced technologies. “We designed it specifically to make our drivers’ life easier, and it evolves to meet their new requirements. We are constantly seeking their feedback and suggestions and look out for the best practices in various sectors in order to improve the app from their perspective and enhance their user experience.”
A Real Pal
Another new feature integrates push notifications with Iveco Driver Pal, technology that lets drivers use Amazon Alexa voice commands for in-cab controls. Now, when a driver vocally issues a remote cab command via Alexa, he can receive confirmation via push notification in the app. Iveco also enhanced the wizard that pairs the Alexa microphone for use with Iveco Driver Pal.
Speaking of pairing, the app also makes it easier for drivers to quickly pair their S-Way truck to the app. Instead of looking up and manually entering a VIN number, the app will prompt them to scan a QR code that’s displayed in the Vehicle Section of the infotainment system.
