DFDS Logistics, an international freight forwarder headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, recently expanded its European fleet with a number of new Krone trailers. The mixture of trailers includes Huckepack Profi Liners, Mega Liners, Cool Liners, and Box Liner container carriers, which are all designed with specifications to serve the needs of the various industries DFDS serves. The new trailers will join the roughly 10,000 trailers and container units traveling on 24 ferry routes in support DFDS Logistics’ operations, which span the continent from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean.
“This is all about choosing the best trailer equipment to match individual customer needs,” says DFDS Equipment Director Keith Sutton. “In particular, the loading flexibility of every Krone trailer enables DFDS to maximise utilisation for our customers while ensuring each consignment is transported and delivered with assured load security.”
About Profi Liners
Profi Liners feature pre-galvanised components, including outer frames and corner stanchions to increase stability. The trailers also have a welded ladder frame construction with continuous longitudinal beams and profiled cross members to allow for small floor plates. Cranked tarpaulin rollers in the outer boom ensure curtains slide smoothly while robot-manufactured steel container doors improve tightness. DFDS added 200 Huckepack curtainsiders in its latest acquisition to accommodate multimodal transport of road and rail.
About Mega Liners
Mega Liners provide flexibility with raise/lower sliding roofs, moveable side posts, full width rear access, and the Multi Safe loading system with multiple strapping points every 10 centimetres along the side raves. The trailers have coupling heights from 880 millimetres and travel height adjustment of the door latches. The Mega Liner has a large capacity of 100 cubic metres and a hydraulic roof to make loading and unloading quick and easy.
