BJS Haulage transports all kind of materials, from construction and manufacturing products to food and beverages, furniture, pallets, and retail products. When renewing its fleet, BJS Haulage recently selected SDC’s Freespan Curtainsider, a trailer known for its full clear side aperture for unobstructed access when loading and unloading. Of the 80 new Freespan Curtainsiders the haulier ordered, 40 are already in service.
Built To Last
To extend the life of the trailers, BJS Haulage configured the EN-XL Freespan Curtainsiders with robust components. The EN 12642-XL-certified trailers boast Haldex Generation 3 braking, steel doors, and SDC’s bolt-on body design, which SDC says relieves stress on the critical parts of the trailer and simplifies repairs to reduce costs in the event of damage. For improved fuel efficiency, the Freespan Curtainsiders also feature BPW Eco-Plus axles.
“Our new SDC trailers are complemented with a matching number of new Renault trucks fully equipped with all the latest tech—which with our fully trained driver teams will allow us to take a distinct advantage in an industry that’s crying out for a more consistent, professional, and courteous approach right now,” says David McWilliams, sales director at BJS Haulage & Construct IT.
Freespan Curtainsider Options
SDC offers the new EN-XL Freespan Curtainsiders in a straight or step-frame design. Fleet operations like BJS Haulage can customize the Freespan to suit their preferred length, and they can optimise performance by selecting ideal door, floor, and storage combinations. Load restraints can also be configured to ensure hauliers meet regulations and safety requirements.
