Joe and Emma Stevens are Joint Managing Directors of the aptly-named Father & Daughter Transport and also fans of Scania trucks. The firm recently added a new Scania R 540 8x4 tipper to fulfill a roadstone and tarmacadam delivery contract with a local construction materials supplier, and this truck will replace an older Scania model driven by Emma Stevens.
“I've been around trucks all my life, my dad has always been a Scania man and I've driven them too, so Scania was always going to be in the frame for me," Emma says. "That said, I have driven other trucks as well, but nothing comes close to Scania, which is why I went for the R 540.”
Service Just Down The Road
Scania's Shepton Mallet depot, which is just five minutes away from the quarry where Father & Daughter Transport regularly works, supplied the 32-tonne R 540 8x4 truck and will also maintain it. The new truck joins a Scania G 450 8x4 tipper Father & Daughter Transport purchased in 2018.
“I cannot fault their service; from reception to parts and to the technicians they're just excellent,” says Emma. “Their sales executive, Paul Faramus, is always really helpful, and the technicians are the unsung heroes who don’t get enough credit—Andy Hamann being one of them; his outlook and attitude within Scania is exceptional."
