Junk It, a Scottish, SEPA-registered rubbish removal specialist with locations in Glasgow and Edinburgh, added two new Isuzu Grafter N35.125 trucks to its fleet earlier this year and will add a third one this month. The company purchased its first vehicle from the marque back in 2016 and now operates an all-Isuzu fleet. Junk It gives each of its trucks a name, and the newest additions have been dubbed Bute and Iona.
Supplied by Motus Commercials, the 3.5-tonne (3.86-U.S.-ton) Grafters all feature purpose-built collection bodies and Junk It plans to keep them running for seven years. They not only play the important role of collecting junk and rubbish for customers, but they also help the company “present a clean and professional image,” according to David Malcolm of Junk It. Plus, they also double as rolling billboards that attract the attention of new customers.
“The Right Truck”
“Back in 2016, we were having reliability issues with our incumbent trucks, and following a long conversion with Motus Commercials, who we found to be really knowledgeable and helpful, we took delivery of our very first Isuzu,” says David Malcolm of Junk It. “Almost instantly, we realised that the Grafter was the right truck for our collection business and the rest is history. Not only did the Isuzus have a compact footprint, giving perfect access to customer’s narrow driveways, as well as impressive fuel consumption and payload, but also the drivers found that they were really easy to drive and very manoeuvrable within the busy, crowded roads around the Glasgow and Edinburgh cities.”
