Leyland Trucks recently produced its 100,000th DAF CF/XF truck. The milestone model is a CF 530 FAT 6x4 drawbar chassis that’s part of a four-vehicle order and will soon haul fuel tankers in Australia. In addition to CFs and XFs, Leyland Trucks produces LFs as well, all of which are right-hand drive configurations.
DAF CFs and XFs are available with PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines ranging from 299 to 530 horsepower (223 and 395 kilowatts), and the CF has another option for a PX-7 engine ranging from 234 to 325 hp (174 and kW). Customers can also choose between a 12- or 16-speed TraXon automated transmission.
“Proud Heritage”
“There is a proud heritage of truck building in the UK and at Leyland, culminating with the production of the current lineup of DAF trucks today,” says Leyland Trucks MD Brennan Gourdie. “100,000 CF and XF chassis is a landmark moment representing an exceptional commitment from everyone here at Leyland and from the wider DAF organization worldwide.”
