Kersey Freight Ltd (KFL), a transport and logistics service provider based in Suffolk, recently purchased 20 new SDC Freespan Curtainsiders to haul a wide range of cargo, including palletised goods and hazardous loads. They joined a fleet of 180 trailers, the majority of which are SDC models, and went into operation in mid-August. This sizeable addition follows another order in 2019 that consisted of 24 trailers. The newest Curtainsiders are post-less and feature low-maintenance drum brakes, LED lights, 9-tonne BPW eco-plus axles, Haldex brakes, extra storage space, and a universal coupling box.
Meeting Customer Needs
“Kersey Freight is trusted by some of the UK’s biggest retailers and manufacturers to deliver their products on time and our new fleet of Curtainsiders will ensure we continue to achieve this,” says KFL Fleet Manager Robert Steele. “When I saw the Freespan model earlier this year, I was impressed by what it has to offer, the practical design and user-friendly operation is favoured by our drivers and will bring significant savings to our everyday operations. Out of the 180 trailers that we operate, 121 of these are SDC, we have always found them reliable, well-built, and robust enough to stand up to our demanding haulage operations.”
