IVECO recently won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2020 in the Automobiles/Vehicles Category for its new S-Way range of trucks. A jury of 78 international industry experts considered 7,298 entries from 56 countries before selecting the S-Way as the winner based on several considerations, including innovation, ergonomics, aesthetics, environmental impact, and many others. The S-Way is an ideal candidate thanks to IVECO’s driver-centric approach to its design.

“It is an honour to receive such a prestigious award,” says Thomas Hilse, IVECO brand president. “It is an important recognition from an authoritative independent jury that we have achieved our aim: redefining the idea of customer centricity with a vehicle that uses design and the latest innovations in connectivity and automation to provide a complete solution that will make our customers and drivers unstoppable.”

    Carefully Crafted Inside & Out

The cab interior highlights the driver-centric design from the comfortable seat and large living and working spaces to the ergonomic controls and connectivity features, while the exterior shows IVECO’s dedication to improving efficiency without sacrificing aesthetics. For example, many exterior components are designed specifically to improve aerodynamics, including an air intake next to the headlamps that reduces turbulence and a rounded cab corner that generates better airflow. All the while, IVECO’s distinct style is evident in the grille and logo, all of which bridges the gap between form and function and earned the truck maker an iF DESIGN AWARD 2020.
