Bridgestone will highlight several innovations, including an airless tyre, at the Consumer Electronics Show 2020, which will take place in Las Vegas from 7 to 10 January. In the company’s first-ever showcase at the event, Bridgestone will take the opportunity to talk about new tyre technologies as well as its Webfleet Solutions platform, which aims to improve the efficiency and safety of vehicles and reduce overall costs with data capture and analytics. If you are planning to attend CES 2020, you will find Bridgestone at Booth 4619 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Airless Tires & Smart Tire Technology

Bridgestone’s airless tyres combine the tread and wheel, which “eliminates the need for tyres to filled and maintained with air” and “essentially erases the dangers and downtime associated with a flat tyre,” the firm explains. One use for the airless tyres is bicycles, but a similar solution will be used for a lunar rover that’s currently under development for an upcoming space exploration mission. Bridgestone will also emphasise the importance of smart tyre technologies at CES, including the concept of creating a “digital twin” of a tyre in order to better predict performance, wear and tear, and more in order to “enhance the precision of vehicle safety systems.”

    A Unique Opportunity

“CES presents Bridgestone with a unique opportunity to demonstrate how we are transforming to become the most trusted partner for mobility solutions,” says TJ Higgins, vice president, senior officer, and global chief strategic officer at Bridgestone. “Bridgestone has a nearly 90-year history of using technology and research to develop advanced products, services, and solutions for a world in motion. As we look to the future, we are combining our core tyre expertise with a wide range of digital solutions to deliver connected products and services that promote safe, sustainable mobility and continue contributing to society’s advancement.”
