Volvo will have 14 new FH trucks on display at this year’s Truckfest, which takes place on 5-6 May 2019 at the East of England Showground in Peterborough. The lineup will highlight Volvo’s depth and breadth of offerings, including standard sleeper, Globetrotter, and Globetrotter XL cabs, the D13 Turbo Compound engine, and I-Shift automated transmission, which is available with crawler gears or in a Dual Clutch configuration for heavy haulage. Volvo will also show options for FH models, including a chassis height optimisation system for trucks with air suspensions, Volvo Tandem Axle Lift, EXSTER remote steering, and Volvo Dynamic Steering.
Models On Display
The FH16-750 6x2, which Volvo has dubbed “Europe’s most powerful production truck,” will be on display at the show and features a full air suspension. There are two other 6x2 trucks that both feature Volvo’s factory-fitted power take-off (PTO) equipment, and one of them also has a twin hydraulic system designed for use with walking floor trailers and tipper bodies. In addition to new models, Volvo will also have used 2017 FH-460 13-litre 6x2 and 2015 FM-450 11-litre trucks featuring Globetrotter cabs.
Other Highlights
While Volvo will take the opportunity to highlight its I-See mapping software and I-Save system designed to improve fuel efficiency, the company will also focus on safety features, like its Driver Alert Support, Lane Keeping Support, and Lane Changing Support solutions. There will be an FM Roll-Over cab at the event as well, which Volvo say “replicates a roll-over incident in a controlled environment. Event attendees will have a chance to test their skills in a Driving Simulator and possibly take home some Volvo merchandise, which will also be available for purchase at the event.
If you’re in the market for a Volvo FH, Volvo FM, or other similar model, you’ll typically find hundreds of them, plus other used Volvo trucks, for sale on TruckLocator.
