Renault Trucks
recently unveiled multiple new updates to its lineup of D and D Wide distribution trucks for 2019. The vehicles are available with DTI 5, DTI 8, or DTI 11 engines, all of which have new particulate filters and are fully Euro 6 Step D-compliant and ready to meet the emissions standards going into effect in September 2019. The DTI 5 and DTI 8 engines also feature new software, and all three are complemented by a low-flow water pump and new oil cooling system.
The DTI 5 produces up to 240 horsepower and 900 newton-metres of torque, the DTI 8 produces up to 320 horsepower and 1,200 newton-metres of torque, and the DTI 11 produces up to 460 horsepower and 2,200 newton-metres of torque. These trucks support biodiesel as a fuel source, and there are compressed natural gas (CNG) models available as well.
Better Aerodynamics, Better Fuel Efficiency
Renault’s Range D trucks
and D Wide trucks feature several new aerodynamic changes, which when coupled with engine update and other new feature can “lead to fuel savings of up to 7% compared with the previous generation,” the company says. This includes lateral deflectors and an adjustable roof-mounted deflector with 12 setting positions.
Operator Benefits
The new trucks also come standard with a number of safety and driver assistance technologies, including an adjustable speed limiter (ASL) and adaptive cruise control (ACC), which automatically helps drivers keep a safe distance away from the vehicle in front of them. Renault placed the controls for the ASL and ACC systems in an easy-to-reach location for improved operator comfort.
Renault’s 2019 Range D and D Wide trucks are currently available for order, but for those in the market for a used vehicle, including the D280 , you’ll find hundreds of nearly new Renault trucks for sale through this site.
